What we collect

Nothing personally identifiable, by default. Anomaly is a single-player research game that runs entirely on your device. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location, IP addresses, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for advertising.

The Apple App Store reports anonymous purchase and crash diagnostics to us. We cannot tie those reports to a specific user.

What stays on your device

• Your portfolio — every paper you draft is stored in the app’s local storage on this device only. Deleting the app deletes the portfolio.
• Your AI provider key, if you choose to set one in Settings → AI Provider. The key never leaves the device. It is sent only to the provider you choose (OpenAI, Anthropic, or your local Ollama instance), in the request body of your own gameplay calls.
• Your settings — difficulty, accessibility preferences, daily-reminder time.
• Microphone audio — when you tap the 🎙 dictation button, iOS transcribes speech locally on the device using Apple’s on-device Speech framework. The audio is not uploaded anywhere. Recording stops the moment you stop speaking or tap the button again.

What we don’t do

• No analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Segment).
• No advertising. No tracking pixels. No third-party cookies.
• No social-graph access. We don’t ask for contacts.
• No data sale, ever. We have no data to sell.

Anomaly Pro subscription

Anomaly Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription via Apple’s StoreKit (com.monthly.100innovation and com.yearly.100innovation). Apple, not us, handles the purchase. We receive only the entitlement (active / not active) and the renewal date. Manage or cancel at any time via the App Store: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.

Hosted AI (Pro only)

If you enable Pro’s hosted AI provider, your gameplay prompts are forwarded to Cloudflare Workers AI via a thin proxy we operate. The proxy logs only a daily rate-limit counter per anonymous device ID. It does not log prompt or completion text. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy applies to their service.

Cloud portfolio sync (Pro only, optional)

If you opt in to cloud sync (Pro), your portfolio is encrypted on-device and stored under a randomly generated, anonymous account ID. We never see your drafts in plaintext. You can disable sync and delete the cloud copy from Settings.

Children

Anomaly is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 4. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete any data we hold about you. Since we hold no personally identifiable data by default, the practical exercise of these rights for free-tier users is: delete the app, and your data is gone. For Pro cloud-sync data, contact us using the email below and we will delete it within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy materially, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where required by law, notify you in-app before the change takes effect.

Anomaly is licensed, not sold. The Apple Standard EULA applies to your use of the app: www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. The Anomaly Pro subscription is governed by the same terms and the App Store’s standard subscription rules. Free-tier features remain available without subscription.
